LASER HAIR REMOVAL
What is laser hair removal? How does it work?Laser hair removal offers patients a safe, fast, and effective alternative for dealing with unwanted hair. Lasers work by emitting a specialized light that is passed through the skin and preferentially absorbed by its target, which is the hair. The laser used in hair removal targets the melanin (color) in the hair follicle, damaging the follicle and removing the hair. Laser hair removal is safe enough to be used on all body parts, including the face, back, underarms, bikini line, legs, and arms.
Can tanned skin be treated?Tanned skin can be treated safely, but always inform the technician if you have been tanning or exposed to the sun within the last three weeks, and she will adjust your treatment regime accordingly to give you the safest, most effective experience.
How many treatments will I need?You may need to be treated about 6 times at approximately 6 to 8 week intervals. There are three phases of hair growth - anagen, catagen, and telogen. Only hairs in the active growth, anagen, can be successfully treated.
Does treatment hurt? What can I expect with the procedure?Most patients describe laser hair removal as feeling "prickly," or like the light snap of a rubber band against the skin. Afterwards, it might feel like a bad sunburn. Each patient has his or her own level of skin sensitivity and pain threshold. Different areas on the body are also more sensitive than others.
What should I expect after treatment?Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however, this should subside within a few hours.
How much does treatment cost?The cost of treatment is dependent on the size of the area needing treatment and the number of treatments necessary. Package deals include a certain number of treatments per year for a reduced cost.

What is Photo Rejuvenation? How does it work?Photo Rejuvenation is using BBL broadband light energy to dramatically erase freckles, age spots, spider veins, sun damage, enlarged pores, redness and flushing (Rosacea), and irregular pigmentation. How many treatments will I need?From 2 to 5 treatments, at 2-4 weeks interval. You may benefit from additional treatments depending on the severity of your condition.
Will it be uncomfortable? What can I expect with the procedure?The procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and safe. You may briefly feel a rubber band snap or warm sensation as the light is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure may take a few minutes to half an hour depending on the size of the area to be treated.
What should I expect after the treatment?You may experience some redness that should resolve within a few hours. Brown spots on your skin can darken followed by fading and flaking at a later stage. Your skin will feel smoother, fine wrinkles and pores will be less noticeable, and sun spots or uneven pigmentation will fade. You will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed.

You may briefly feel a warm or hot sensation as the laser pulses are preferentially absorbed in the unwanted vessels, heating and destroying them.
What areas can be treated?All skin areas can be treated. Popular areas are the face, neck, chest, and legs.
What should I expect after treatment?Your skin will have a pink or red color that will resolve over time. You will need to avoid direct sun exposure, or use a sun block of at least SPF 15 when outdoors.
